PRIMARY FUNCTION

? Assure Target supply chain is transparent and ethically delivers responsibly sourced owned brand products to Target’s Omni-channel Guests by proactively planning and managing environmental compliance to Target’s Standards of Vendor Engagement.

? Achieves Target Sourcing Services (TSS) and Target financial plans by partnering with Headquarter (HQ) counterparts and fabric suppliers through strategic fabric planning and leveraging.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Foundational Activities

? Environmental Sustainability

o Train and implement environmental programs, processes and expectations to business partners and internal teams

o Monitor and track NGO and government databases

o Collaborate and influence supplier participation in programs

o Manages completion of environmental self-assessments and third party verification with supply chain

o Integrates supplier environmental performance results into sourcing scorecards

? Fabric Costing and Negotiations

o Drives profitability through fabric cost negotiations with suppliers

o Analyze cost components of fabric

o Communicating directly with Suppliers to manage fabric placement, production and delivery

o Conduct analysis of the marketplace

o Supports Category Sourcing Team to explore new suppliers, goals, and projections.

2. Supply Chain Management

? Support new business partner onboarding process from Fabric Sourcing and Sustainability perspective

? Develop suppliers and elevate performance

? Lead the facilitation of issue resolution between cross functional teams, suppliers, garment vendor and third parties as needed

? Ensure suppliers have met all Target requirements

3. Business Management

? Ensure on time execution of assigned tasks, projects and align fabric negotiation results with team goals

? Ensures problems identified are resolved timely

? Support compliance with governmental requirements in factories

? Accept other tasks and projects as determined by leaders

4. Collaboration

? Actively provides market intelligence, regulatory and environmental policy updates within country

? Act as sourcing liaison between HQ, business partners and cross functional teams

5. Brand Reputation

? Understand guest expectation

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

? Degree/diploma in Textiles, Environmental Sustainability or equivalent work experience

? 3 – 5 years’ experience in textile manufacturing or development

? Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability practices

? Knowledge of environmental regulations in China

? Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities

? Ability to work independently, and under general direction

? Strong initiative: proactive and self-motivated

? Good negotiation, interpersonal and leadership skills

? Comfortable with ambiguity

? Team player

? Ability to establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams, suppliers and industry associations

? Knowledge of fabric manufacturing

? Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills

? Meeting management/facilitation skills

? Excellent communication skills in local and English language, both written and verbal

? Computer skill: familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office software applications

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

? Experience in environmental sustainability

? Past working experience or knowledge of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) and/or the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)

? Experience in retail manufacturing and/or textile production
